A concept design for the future growth of a five-star hotel in the Hunter Valley winelands. Working with the existing Italianate narrative, the additional rooms, entrance, wine tasting and cellar areas formed the entrance feature. The new aesthetic is reliant on sculptural forms, texture and colour palette to tie the new additions with the existing. The entrance was moved to create a gentle uphill, sweeping processional arrival experience through vineyards and all parking are to be buried underground to reduce the human footprint.
